Five-Output Remote Kit and Pump Programming
- Identify kit components, receiver wiring, and transmitter status indications.
- Program hoist and winch pump behavior and verify acceptance.
- Distinguish mode settings from wiring, power, and synchronization faults.
- Digital multimeter — Check receiver supply voltage and ground integrity; verify commanded outputs using suitable probes.
- Back-probe leads — Access connector circuits without spreading terminals or piercing insulation.
- Stopwatch — Time programming holds and receiver acceptance indications.
- Inspection light — Inspect wire colors, connector condition, and Micro USB orientation.
Sales kit 3A577WA includes transmitter 3A5776A, receiver 3A577FA, a lanyard, charger cable, and programming card. Its six-pin assignments are green pin 1 for WINCH OUT, blue pin 2 for WINCH IN, orange pin 3 for HOIST DOWN, yellow pin 4 for HOIST UP, white pin 5 for PUMP, and red pin 6 for power. The separate black wire is ground. The receiver requires 9–30 V DC and draws 14 mA at 12 V. Its radio is 2.4 GHz FHSS at 100 mW.
Hold POWER for at least 2 seconds and release when both LEDs illuminate. The transmitter shuts off after 15 minutes without button activity. Green blinking twice per second indicates communication; once per second indicates no communication. A red transmitter LED flashing once per second means low battery. Steady red indicates charging, and steady green indicates charging is complete. Charging is slower with the transmitter on. Check Micro USB orientation, do not exceed 5 lb of insertion force, and use only the approved B20172A wall charger or B20173B car charger.
The default hoist setting is Power Down, which operates PUMP with all outputs. To change the hoist setting, begin with the receiver off and transmitter on. Hold HOIST UP and HOIST DOWN for 5 seconds until the red LED blinks, then release the buttons and power the receiver. Select HOIST DOWN for Gravity Down or HOIST UP for Power Down. Gravity Down does not run PUMP with the DOWN output. A solid receiver green LED for 3 seconds confirms acceptance.
The default winch setting is Power Out, which runs PUMP with both OUT and IN. Begin winch programming with receiver off and transmitter on. Hold OUT and IN for 5 seconds until red blinks, release the buttons, and power the receiver. Select OUT for Gravity Out or IN for Power Out. Gravity Out runs PUMP only with IN. The receiver shows solid green for 3 seconds when programming is accepted.
Pairs are synchronized at the factory. Replacement synchronization starts with both devices off: hold transmitter POWER for more than 10 seconds until LEDs blink, turn on the receiver, and wait for only the transmitter's green LED to blink rapidly. To clone, start with both transmitters and receiver off; hold transmitter A's POWER for 10 seconds until its LEDs blink, then release. Hold IN, OUT, and POWER on transmitter B until both LEDs blink. Wait for green blinking on both transmitters, turn both off, and synchronize one to the receiver. To unclone, start with transmitter and receiver off, hold IN, OUT, BLANK, and POWER until the LEDs toggle, release, press any button for a new ID, and synchronize to a new receiver. Only one transmitter may be on at a time.
How It Works
Kit identity and electrical paths
Sales kit 3A577WA contains transmitter 3A5776A, receiver 3A577FA, a lanyard, charger cable, and programming card. Connector assignments are green pin 1 for WINCH OUT, blue pin 2 for WINCH IN, orange pin 3 for HOIST DOWN, yellow pin 4 for HOIST UP, white pin 5 for PUMP, and red pin 6 for power; the separate black wire is ground. The receiver requires 9–30 V DC and draws 14 mA at 12 V; an inadequate supply or poor ground can interrupt operation and resemble a remote-control fault.
Hoist mode changes pump participation
The default hoist setting is Power Down, which operates PUMP with all outputs; Gravity Down does not run PUMP with the DOWN output, so absent pump operation during lowering can be intentional rather than a fault. Begin with the receiver off and transmitter on, hold HOIST UP and HOIST DOWN for 5 seconds until the red LED blinks, release, then power the receiver and select HOIST DOWN for Gravity Down or HOIST UP for Power Down. A solid receiver green LED for 3 seconds confirms acceptance; choose the mode to match the hydraulic system, because removing pump operation does not by itself make a circuit suitable for gravity lowering.
Winch mode and communication status
The default winch setting is Power Out, which runs PUMP with both OUT and IN; Gravity Out runs PUMP only with IN. Begin with the receiver off and transmitter on, hold OUT and IN for 5 seconds until red blinks, release, power the receiver, and select OUT for Gravity Out or IN for Power Out; a solid receiver green LED for 3 seconds confirms acceptance. Green blinking twice per second indicates communication, whereas once per second indicates no communication; establishing communication and accepting a mode are separate checks.
Step-by-Step Procedure
0/7 doneFive-Output Kit Values
| Receiver supply and current draw | 9–30 V DC; 14 mA at 12 V |
| Radio | 2.4 GHz FHSS; 100 mW |
| Mode-entry button hold | 5 seconds |
| Programming acceptance indication | Receiver green LED solid for 3 seconds |
| Communication indication | Green LED blinks twice per second |
Diagnostic Chart
| Symptom | Check | Spec / Expected | Likely cause & fix |
|---|---|---|---|
| Receiver does not respond to commands. | Measure supply between the red power wire and separate black ground wire, inspect connections, and observe the transmitter communication indication. | Receiver supply: 9–30 V DC. Green blinking twice per second indicates communication; once per second indicates no communication. | Missing or unsuitable supply, poor ground, or lack of communication may prevent a response. Basis: KTI-Remote-Kit-Instructions |
| HOIST DOWN operates without PUMP. | Determine the required hydraulic operating mode. If Power Down is required, repeat hoist programming and observe the receiver acceptance indication before a controlled functional test. | Gravity Down does not run PUMP with the DOWN output. Select HOIST UP for Power Down. Receiver green LED solid for 3 seconds confirms acceptance. | Gravity Down may be selected; the pump behavior alone does not establish a component failure. Basis: KTI-Remote-Kit-Instructions |
| WINCH OUT operates without PUMP, but IN runs PUMP. | Compare the behavior with the required winch mode. If Power Out is required, repeat winch programming and verify acceptance. | Gravity Out runs PUMP only with IN. Select IN for Power Out, which runs PUMP with both OUT and IN. Receiver green LED solid for 3 seconds confirms acceptance. | Gravity Out may be selected rather than Power Out. Basis: KTI-Remote-Kit-Instructions |
| Transmitter shows flashing red or appears to turn off unexpectedly. | Distinguish low-battery flashing from charging indications and check whether shutdown followed inactivity. Inspect charging-port orientation before connecting the approved charger. | Red flashing once per second means low battery. Shutdown occurs after 15 minutes without button activity. Steady red indicates charging; steady green indicates charging is complete. Use only B20172A or B20173B; do not exceed 5 lb of insertion force. | Low battery or normal inactivity shutdown may explain the symptom; charging is slower with the transmitter on. Common Bay Mistakes
- ✕ Do not confuse the white PUMP wire with the separate black ground wire.
- ✕ Do not assume a programming attempt succeeded without the receiver acceptance indication.
- ✕ Do not energize cloned transmitters simultaneously; only one transmitter may be on at a time.
- ✕ Do not test motion with personnel in the travel area or beneath an unsupported raised body.
